Saffron is a green color and can last anywhere between 6 and 12 months. The following information describes how long saffron takes to grow.
The main plant must be young
The top of the plant should have at least 2 inches of branching at the center and 3.2 inches in length.
The root cell is approximately 3 long by 4 wide
The stem should be 1 thick
The seeds within the plant should be 6 to 12 inches long
The leaves are about 5 deep
All leaves should be edible
The seeds within the plant should be 2-6 inches long
The root, stalk and twigs within the plant should be in a cone shape
The leaves and stems will vary from shade of blue to yellow depending on the season and how well they soak.
When the plant finally needs to mature, it will develop the flowers within the leaves or branches above it. It’s important to keep growing saffron plants with a well-drained water filter. If you have irrigation systems in use that are not well watered as a control shade, saffron plants will need to be watered with water a few times a week for a year before they start to grow. If the soil is too cold for the growing plants, these plants should be watered before planting. Water should be used for all soil types in the growing season as they will absorb so much water from the plants that the water levels will have elevated and cause the plants to become dehydrated.
The roots and stem should be fine
If your soil is too wet, you will need to cut the soil or replace it with other material. For example, if you want to turn it into saffron soil, cut the stems of your leaves or seeds. If you want to remove some water from it, cut off a layer of soil and re-cut the entire leaves. You do not need to cut the stems If your saffron plants are growing at a very fine point, they will need to be cut back. If they are growing in hot, dry conditions like hot sun or when you grow them in hot weather, then make sure they also come out clean. If the plant needs more water, you can even use it to cool it down if the soil is too wet.
Sulfur may help increase moisture levels in the soil to help it control germination.
