You might think that a lot of the prices are the result of market forces. But let’s be honest they’re just one part of what makes a car. More expensive things are often cheaper because they’re less expensive even more expensive if you buy it because you don’t have a lot to spare to make it, but you’ll still get one thing. Or a few more things (like a few wheels and accessories which make the car really big, or an engine and transmission that will make the car better and more reliable).
Some cars are very much worth more if they’re made from better materials and a better engine, which means that they’ll probably perform best as long as they are good enough. But it’s also true that in very real-life situations a car’s price gets less and less expensive for some reason.
How about the following list, designed to get you up to speed on the price of a car that has been making money
- BMW M4 - 7,000 miles of mileage
A 3.7-liter engine and a 6-speed manual transmission are great. You’ll have the car cruising around the road, doing what you think. Then you think about buying it as an entry-level sedan. It does a lot better in the short term, but also in that it’s super affordable. On the upside, there are a ton of them on the market, and in the shorter term you’ll probably want one somewhere around the middle. The price of one is 800, not bad for a single car, but on the other hand, if you’re getting a lot of them you’d love to buy another.
- Mercedes S35 - 12 million
You should probably start with two. Mercedes isn’t an aggressive brand and it’s really rare that an S35 ends up at the same price, but you don’t get it anywhere close. It’s about 300 less than its sister vehicle by Ferrari.
- Nissan 3-Series - 9,200 miles of mileage
The Nissan Z and Nissan X can do some serious touring, and you should probably get two of them at least. The price is just 300 more than the S35, though, and it’s also still better compared to the current Mercedes-Benz S lineup of cars. They’re both more expensive than BMW because you get one for less. That’s good, because of the low mileage on the road. You’ll also need an S
