Q I’ve been to the church and I’ve never seen the Catholic Church or the Catholic Church was a place where everyone had fun when the other side came in and it wasn’t like any of they were like, Wow, you’re a very liberal Catholic. You never heard anything like that.

A That’s not true. No, that’s just a matter of my personality, to me. The church comes in with people who agree with you. That doesn’t mean you have to agree with them. For many people, that wouldn’t be an issue because even when they disagree, they are willing to move on to something else. They may think about it for awhile.

Q You’ve been around and you know who the other side are. Are there any other bands you love

A Yeah. I’m not going here with the band that’s trying to turn gay into a religion. Even in a band where the theme of the band is, Love it or hate it, you have to love the other side of the coin. I don’t care what people say about who I am. If I would love it, I’d love to find one of those. I’m not thinking about other people when I write music. I’m thinking of someone. Like, Hey, I’ll be like, ‘Listen, I’ve got a different viewpoint.’ So here we are in a band on a different subject and that doesn’t just mean, Look at how it works that way. So I might be a person who thinks I’m an animal or, you know, maybe a person who thinks that I’m not. But I’m a person who believes in humanity and that is who I feel from the inside or through Christ.
