A good indicator may still be the best measure of a firm’s performance for two or three months in the future, but the best indicator is often the one that suggests what you need to do to do business this time. At one point in time, many companies would be reluctant to move their operations over the edge. And this was where an indicator like Gini became an effective tool to show such an event.

In the 1980s, the firm’s stock price declined sharply. That’s why Gini is a good option to use if you have a high-quality service. For example, I suggest that you use a firm’s average profit per share for their average performance metrics. And for a long-term plan of business, you can just use this metric to track how closely your company does with those services. Similarly, many firms do not want to lose their current financial position through loss or attrition.
