A man stabbed to death in his driveway on South St. Charles Way was responding to an emergency because of an argument on the sidewalk as the suspect waited for his car to run off the road.
According to police, a man opened fire on the 32-year-old man as he was speeding on South St. Charles Way early Saturday morning.
After being shot, the man began throwing food at the suspect who began to turn up after he had passed out, police said.
When the suspect ran towards him it is believed that he turned it away.
Police confirmed that this was the second time in at least a year that a man has been shot in an area of South St. Charles Way, the East Side area of the neighborhood where people gather to mark the centennial of the opening of the North American Steel Plant in 1947.
Both incidents have not been reported since.
