TRAVIS, Ariz. - Arizona State junior running back Terrance Mitchell is on the verge of returning to action, but there are questions about his return to football.
His father is an official with Pro Bowl safety and college football operations. Terrance said he plans to get over the injury to his left ankle, but that he wouldn’t say too much about it. He is in a recovery stage right now.
It’s just getting better, Mitchell said. I really don’t feel like I’m going to be coming back. But at the same time, I didn’t feel I couldn’t come back. I’m so happy I’m doing what I do, where I’m the best at.
Mitchell is listed as day three of his rehab and he is expected to be ready to go by the Oct. 24 game. It will also be official after that on whether he will participate in OTAs this week in Los Angeles to try to figure out the long-term rehab program and whether he will continue his studies.
I’m definitely feeling like I’m ready to go, Mitchell said. I’ve played football all my life. I’ve always been pro. They’ve always been very nice in my life, and I think they care about me.
Mitchell also said that he’s looking forward to playing in the NFL’s playoff games before returning.
It really feels good to be in the NFL now. Going to the playoffs just adds so much, but for me, my teammates and I know it’s coming down to a quick start. We’re going to fight back and get back in the playoffs now.

Mitchell was named the Bama Football Player of the Year and was named BAMF Player of the Week last year.
