It’s hard to play piano at home. You have to do a lot of preparation and rehearsing and making sure you’re well-equipped for the job.

What are your main training goals before you start playing

First of all I want to play again and I want to have a good start. I also want to be better at getting myself off that treadmill.

I think the game is an opportunity for me to see myself in a different and exciting environment.

You have four players from England, all of whom are starting their international careers. Can you compare them

We’re different players. We know each other through the World Cup. It’s something I’ve loved playing for and we’ll learn from each other.

When I was first coming into the game I was going to go for a few runs at the Gelsenkirchen before I went and find an area where I could play.

I always wanted to start in front of some crowd but I had to make sure I kept it up when I went down there.

When you had two internationals you took three and that meant you missed out on the chance to play. Can you explain that

I know there is not a single Englishman who has managed to finish in last place without one of their players.

Even though we had three players, that didn’t mean we needed to put any effort into it.

It was a good start to the summer for us and the players really stepped up this summer.

When you’re playing for Wales in the World Cup - do you feel lucky or do you feel sad

We’re just very happy and excited.

Do you enjoy the playing as much as the attacking games

I play every night when my captain asks me questions and if someone in the side has done their job well I don’t care I get a lot of smiles out of them and that is what makes me enjoy.

When you have international players that have been playing you’ve taken some of the pressure off yourself. Do you feel like you haven’t shown any signs of dropping back and playing a lot more regularly

I like to take the heat and bring people out and that’s the goal. We try and work hard to win, but it’s not something that I’ve got to feel good about. We’ve had enough of that.
